Holiday Baking and Whatnot

Normally I do a lot more baking, but this year I was just way too busy. I managed to sneak in a few things though and I thought they were worth sharing. There are also some bonus photos from Q's school holiday party. :)

Cutout Cookies
My mom, Emily and I have always had a tradition of making iced cutout sugar cookies. This year it was a little harder, but I managed to squeeze them in by myself for a cookie day at work. As always, they were a hit! They don't really look all that pretty, but they taste better than any cookie you will eat...I promise! You can't go wrong when you put real whipping cream in the dough!

Snowman Cake Pops and Doughnuts
I've spoiled Quinn's teachers by making cake balls or cake pops a few times. I had to keep it up with some Christmas-themed pops. Quinn got to lick her first of many beaters when I finished mixing the cake. I made snowmen for the teachers and then I did an easy treat for the kids in Q's class. I put powdered sugar doughnuts in a little baggy and made them look like snowmen. Done and done. No baking or crafting for the one-year olds...they're easy to please!

Cookie Decorating Party
My friend, Kim, has been hosting a cookie decorating party for the last few years. It's one of my favorite things about the holidays now and I truly look forward to it every year. She bakes all the cookies, provides the icing and decoration and we just show up and have fun! This year, she let the guys join in with their own party in the garage where they decorated ninja gingerbread men. Jeremy didn't get to participate since he was home with Quinn, but the other guys cracked us up with their creative use of icing.

Quinn's Class Party
Ironically, Quinn's class party was on the day I found out my blog photos were being stolen. I pretty much immediately left work to go to her school. It was torture sitting at my desk when I just wanted to love on my baby and I was glad to participate in the festivities! After the party, Q and I got to have some quality time at the park...some much-needed girl time.

AWWW...all of the cookies and treats look so good! I missed the Kim Kainer Cookie Decorating night-good job decorating! Did any of yours win a prize?! I loved Quinns Snowman shirt for her party too! Love you guys!

The Houses

I miss those parties so much! Love the cookies - especially the ninja ones. What does the 54 cookie mean? Have y'all been able to stop those creepsters from stealing Quinn's identity? Happy New Year Sylestines!
