Quinn's First Halloween

What a difference a year makes!!

Halloween 2011

Halloween 2012
Quinn's first Halloween was so great! The only bad part was that Jeremy had to teach his normal Wednesday night class so he missed a lot of the fun. That's okay...he got to re-live the day with all the photos I took.

The Friday before Halloween, Q's school had orange and black day and she got to sport her Halloween cat dress that Nannie Mae got her last Christmas as part of a huge box of clothes. It's weird to think I opened that gift when Q was so teeny tiny.

Q loved Miss Belkis' Halloween vest.

Q and her best friend, Kelly.

Halloween day was super fun! Quinn's school had a Halloween parade where all the kids went outside to show off their costumes. The infant class all piled in a couple of cribs and the teachers wheeled them outside for the fun. Unfortunately, Halloween in Texas is still so hot that the poor babies were sweating in their flannel costumes. Quinn was fighting off yet another cold, so she wasn't all that happy, but she eventually started having fun. She sure did look cute w/ her friends!

After school we had to go to the ENT for a follow-up to make sure Quinn's ears were okay and then we went home to start our fun night. Nannie Mae and Papa D came over to help us carve a jack-o-lantern, eat dinner and hand out candy. I decided I wanted Quinn to have a jack-o-lantern when I left work that day but didn't really think about the fact that it might be hard to find one. I should have bought one at the pumpkin patch, but I didn't know I would have this strong desire to share this specific Halloween memory with Q until the day of. I called two different HEBs and a Wal Mart and finally ended up at a church pumpkin patch that was quickly running out. Thank goodness...it was $20 well spent!

Before getting the night started, I took advantage of the nice weather and lighting in the late afternoon. :)

After dinner we stripped Quinn down and started the pumpkin carving. Mom and Dennis decided I only invited them over to do all the carving work. Hehe! :) I wanted Quinn to be able to touch and play with the seeds and gooey pumpkin insides. She is really funny about textures and she doesn't like her hands to be dirty. It took her a while to get into it, but after she got used to the texture she loved playing. She is so quirky! She only wanted to put the seeds in her mouth but she was very careful not to let the gooey insides close. Funny baby girl!

After we put our jack-o-lantern out, I let Quinn have the organic sucker that Miss Belkis had given her that day. She loved it and drooled sticky, cherry juice everywhere! The funniest part is when she was tired of it, she just stuck it to my shirt! Silly girl!

The Houses

These blogs are too cute! All of the pics are great - especially the one of Quinn laughing at Ella. Ella looks like she's saying, "Leave me alone!" Did Quinn and her teacher wear matching costumes??
